Rains will hit new harvest in Central America, warns International Coffee Organization

Monday, November 15, 2010

The International Coffee Organization forecasts that heavy rainfall will have a negative impact on the 2010-2011 harvest in Central America and elsewhere in the world.

In its most recent report, the organization said that concern over the prospects for the harvest are raising concern in all the producing countries. They fear shortfalls in production caused by heavy rainfall.

The organization said that total production in the recent harvest was less than 120 million quintals, down from 128.4 million in 2008-2009.
