Record of foreign investment to Latin America

Latin America and the Caribbean received historical amounts of direct foreign investment during 2012, a report by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean shows.
The region received $173.3 billion, a figure which represents a 7 percent growth compared to 2011.
Panama once again was the country with most foreign investment in Central America, while El Salvador showed growth of 34 percent; Guatemala 18 percent; Costa Rica 5 percent and Honduras 4 percent.
