Region creates plan to ease trade

Friday, November 7, 2014

The Central American governments are working to create a regional strategy that aims to ease trade and increase the region's customs integration.

The strategy was ordered by the region's presidents earlier this year, said William García, director of the Central American Integration System.

The plan seeks to unify procedures throughout the region. It's not possible for a container to travel from Panama to Guatemala at some 15 kilometers per hour due to the waiting times at the borders," he added.
