Region is number one for US outbound tourism

Central America is now the world's leading destination in terms of tourism growth from the United States.
After Central America, the next top destinations for American tourists are the Middle East and Asia, according to a report published by the US Office of Travel & Tourism Industries.
A total of 1 million American tourists visited Central America during the first five months of the year, a 15 percent growth compared to the same period last year, the report said.
