Region must improve competitiveness: BCIE
Central America must improve its competitiveness and economic integration in order to attract more foreign investment, said Alejandro Rodríguez, vice president of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration.
While the bank has focused on economic and social integration in the region, Rodríguez said there are other areas the bank could provide support in order to boost the region's economy.
Foreign direct investment to the region reached $9.7 billion last year, a record figure according to the Central American institute for fiscal studies.
