Region's coffee exports plummet

Guatemala, Honduras and Costa Rica all reported drops in their coffee production and exports.

Guatemala's exports of the grain dropped 15.7 percent to 2.9 million bags of 60 kilograms each in the 2013-2014 harvest that ended September 30.

Costa Rica's exports dropped 2.8 percent to 62,160 bags, while Honduras reported a 3.7 percent fall in volume and 0.2 percent in value.
