Region's dairy industry confronts imitators

Central America's dairy industry aims to increase the volume of production and quality of its products.
But its technical coordinator, Erick Montero Vargas, points out that the efforts are being undermined by imitation products that represent unfair competition.
"Lactic formula, modified milk, fortified milk, analogous cheese, imitation and processed cheeses, are some of the terms that these products are described in order to fool consumers," Montero said.
