Region's exports to Europe drop 10.5 percent

Central America's exports to the European Union dropped 10.5 percent in the first quarter this year, compared with the same period last year, according to the Secretariat for Central American Economic Integration, Sieca.

The figure represents exports totalling $1.02 billion for the period.

Costa Rica exported 52 percent of the total, followed by Honduras with 29 percent, Guatemala 10 percent, El Salvador 5.4 percent, and finally Panama and Nicaragua, both with 5.2 percent.
