Region’s first-quarter trade surges to 21 percent

Trade among Central American countries during this year’s first quarter rose by 21.3 percent compared to the same period of last year.
According to the Central American Economic Integration Secretariat, trade among Central American countries January through March came to $1.75 billion.
Central America’s total trade, including the whole of the rest of the worls, rose by 20.6 percent year-on-year to $7.25 billion in the first quarter.
