Remittances to El Salvador hit $3.57 billion

Remittances to El Salvador reached $3.57 billion from January to November last year, the central reserve bank said.

The figure is higher by $52 million compared with the same period in 2012.

Salvadoran banks processed 61 percent of the total, followed by remittance agencies with 33 percent, while the remaining amount entered the country via Salvadorans travelling home mainly from the United States.
