Remittances to El Salvador rise by 2.5 percent of $2.08 billion in seven months

Emigrants from El Salvador sent $2.08 billion in remittances to their families from January through July, a 2.5 percent increase on the same year as last year.
In July, the country received $293 million, a 6.7 percent year-on-year increase.
Remittances in recent years have accounted for some 18 percent of El Salvador’s gross domestic product.
