Remittances to Honduras bounce back to $2.08 billion this year through October

Remittances sent by Honduran emigrants to their families back home reached $2.08 billion through October of this year, a 4.6 percent increase on the same period of 2009.

 

The amount of remittances has begun to increase since the middle of this year, following the 11.1 percent slump in 2009 as a result of the US financial crisis.

 

Some one million Hondurans live either legally or illegally in the US.
