Renewables a full energy solution

Wednesday, September 25, 2019

The Government of Costa Rica expects the country will generate more than 99 percent of its energy from renewable resources in 2019 for a fifth consecutive year.

The numbers do not include the fossil-fuel dependent transportation sector, which is responsible for 66 percent of hydrocarbon consumption and 54 percent of carbon dioxide emissions in Costa Rica, the Tico Times reports.
