Monday, July 19, 2010

Retailer Wal-Mart de Mexico is expected to report solid sales and profit growth for the second quarter, boosted by the acquisition of stores in Central America and a gradual recovery in consumption in Mexico.

Walmex, as Mexico's biggest retailer is also known, will probably report net profit of $345 million) for the April-June quarter, up 19 por cent from the same quarter of 2009.

It will be the first full quarter of results from Wal-Mart's Central American operations, which Walmex acquired in February.
