Rotec Industries of US wins $50 million deal for Panama Canal concrete equipment

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

Rotec Industries of the United States recently received the principal contract for concrete-placing equipment and services for the expansion of the Panama Canal. Rotec believes that the contract will exceed $50 million by the end of the project.

Rotec’s giant crane-like equipment will tower over the canal site, with an arm that stretches more than the length of a Boeing 747. The contract means jobs for hundreds of Illinois workers employed by various suppliers and subcontractors.
