Will Royal Caribbean ships soon be calling in El Salvador? That's the word this week from El Salvador's El Mundo newspaper. El Mundo quotes the country's tourism minister as saying negotiations are well underway with Royal Caribbean on a schedule of calls.
Cruise calls in El Salvador are a relatively rarity, although El Mundo notes that a Hapag-Lloyd ship, Europa, visited the country in April. A Fred Olsen Cruise Lines ship, Balmoral, also is scheduled to visit El Salvador in the coming year.
