San José and Panama are the most expensive cities

Costa Rica’s capital, San José, is the eighth most expensive city in Latin America.

That is one of the findings of edition number 24 of Mercer’s international cost of living index.

The Costa Rican capital came in at number 141 on the world ranking, making more expensive than Montreal in Canada. Within Central America, it ranks as number two to Panama City.
