San Jose - one of the tops in tourism

San Jose will be among the six Latin American cities, which attract the greatest number of tourists, according to the 2013 Master Card Global Destination Cities Index.

Costa Rica’s capital - the only Central American city to make the list - ranks fifth, ahead of Rio de Janeiro, one of the continent’s most famous tourist destinations.

Mexico City tops this year’s index, while Caracas came last.

The global survey ranks cities in terms of overall international visitor arrivals and spending (figures show the top six Latin American destinations).
