Scientists see clues to misterious kidney failure

During the past two decades mysterious kidney failure has killed more than 20,000 farmers on Central America’s Pacific coast.

Scientists have long struggled to find the cause of the chronic disease that chiefly afflicts farmers, and now suspect strenuous labor and harsh work conditions.
