Shortage of technicians boosts wages in Costa Rica

Many Costa Rican companies are short of good technicians. The result has been increases of 80 percent in the basic wage for the job.
For every engineer produced by the nation's universities, about six technicians are required.
The Costa Rican market needs some 45,000 technicians in applied sciences each year through 2016.
