Showbiz firms want Panama to be a mini-Las Vegas
Panama is rapidly developing its entertainment business, leading some businessmen to believe that it could become a mini-Las Vegas.
Income from fruit machines alone raised $600 million in taxes for the government last year, and the state’s take from box-office returns brought in up to $1 million each.
Alfredo Arias, of ShowPro, said he wants to see Panama become a Latin American version of Las Vegas.
