Shrimp producers see increased losses from infections

Some Central American shrimp producers are seeing an increased amount of losses because of bacterial infections, but it remains to be seen whether the crustacean deaths are because of early mortality syndrome (EMS).

Shrimp mortalities in Honduras and Panama may be linked to weather changes, water quality or other diseases, while sources say talk of EMS may have been sparked by rumors.
