Slim's title as word's richest could be under threat

Once again Mexico’s Carlos Slim was named the richest man in the world by Forbes.

This year, his fortune is estimated at $73 billion, thanks to his businesses in telecommunications, finance, mining and construction.

However, Slim’s fortune could be at risk, as Latin American telecoms regulators are seeking tighter controls to reduce his dominance.
