South Korea raises its hand to back Nicaragua canal

South Korea is the first country in showing interest in the $30 billion Inter-Oceanic canal in Nicaragua.

The Nicaraguan parliament is still debating the approval of the project, proposed by the country's president, Daniel Ortega.

"Korea has a lot of experience in building canals and infrastructure, and that's why we are interested in being part of it", said South Korean ambassador in Nicaragua, Son Tae Kim.
