Spain’s FCC wins $587 million contract in Panama

Panama’s government awarded Spanish construction company FCC a $587 million contract for the construction, design, financing and equipment of the national hospital complex, Ciudad Hospitalaria.

The national public health service, which organized the tender, chose FCC among nine other bidders from Panama, Brazil, Spain and Korea.

The new complex is to be located in western Panama City. It will have 49 operating theaters and 1,709 beds.
