Spain’s Gas Natural Fenosa to boost electrification in rural Nicaragua

Spain’s Gas Natural Fenosa signed an agreement with Nicaragua’s government on increasing the electrification of the countryside from 65 to 85 percent, and providing regular power service for slums.

The accord is expected to benefit 120,000 people in rural areas, in addition to many slum-dwellers.

Officials of Gas Natural Fenosa said the accord will take “a giant step” for the modernization of the nation’s electricity service.
