Wednesday, December 14, 2011

Spain-based cellular operator Telefónica Movistar is poised to compete with rival Claro of Mexico’s América Móvil in the use of a 4G data transmission service.
Claro was the first wireless operator to launch 4G in Guatemala. Tigo is also expected to follow.
Currently some 30 percent of Movistar customers in Guatemala use a 3G network; the others have 2G phones.
