Spanish firms in hunt for Panama $9 billion in contracts

Spanish companies have launched a new offensive to win contracts for public works in Panama.
The development minister, José Blanco, is heading a group of construction companies that want to discuss with Panamanian officials the 2010-2014 investment plan’s $9.6 billion in projects.
The majority of the projects are earmarked for the private sector and are to be be launched from next year.
