Spanish tuna merger unites vessels under Central American flags

Spanish tuna fishing firm International Fishing Co. & Derivatives (Inpesca) has been integrated into the Association of Large Freezer Tuna (Agac), parent association of the Producers of Large Tuna Freezer Vessels.

With this integration, Agac/Opagac now represents 47 vessels, according to the latter. Of those 47 vessels, 15 fish under the Spanish flag and 32 under the flags of countries in which Spanish fishermen have made investments, such as Seychelles, Ecuador, El Salvador, Panama, Curacao, Belize and Guatemala.
