Suez launches salvo in tariff war with Panama Canal

The Suez Canal is offering 65 percent tariff discounts in what appears to be a commercial war with the recently expanded Panama Canal.

In addition to lower tariffs, Suez is offering long-term contracts that are highly unusual in the shipping industry.
