Sugar sector from El Salvador expects better harvest
Thursday, September 15, 2016
The sugar sector in El Salvador expects production of just over 16 million quintals of sugar for the year 2016-2017, thanks to better and more consistent rains than last harvest, said Mario Salaverría, president of the guild.
Salaverría recalled that the sector still suffers from an 18 percent fall in crop production during 2015-2016 due to dry weather.
