Sura's ING takeover was region's deal of year

A Colombian company recorded the biggest deal of the year by a Latin American transnational, according to the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.

The deal was the $3.6 billion acquisition by Grupo Sura of the Latin American pensions and insurance arm of Holland's ING.

Colombia is the number four Latin American nation in receipt of foreign investment and also in growth in the volume of investment.
