Sweden abandons probe into Millicom Guatemala

Emerging markets telecoms operator Millicom has announced that it has been notified by Swedish prosecutors that the preliminary investigation into potential improper payments made on behalf of its joint venture in Guatemala has been discontinued due to a lack of jurisdiction.

The news comes after Millicom confirmed last October that it had voluntarily reported the alleged improper payments to law enforcement authorities in the US and Sweden.
