Switch development funds into fight for virus, regional leaders say

Central American governments called for speedy access to an emergency fund that could implement a regional emergency plan to fight the coronavirus epidemic which has caused one death and dozens of confirmed cases in the region.
The declaration was agreed at a "virtual meeting" attended by the presidents of Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and the Dominican Republic, in addition to the prime minister of Belize, Informa reports in Spanish.
