Taiwan’s foreign minister to visit allies in Central America. Tour includes, El Salvador, Guatemala and Nicaragua

Timothy Yang, Taiwan’s foreign minister, left on a trip to Central America that will take him to three of Taiwan's diplomatic allies in the region: El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua.

Yang will attend a ministerial-level meeting of the System of Central American Integration on Thursday in San Salvador.

From El Salvador, Yang and his delegation will travel to Guatemala and Nicaragua, where he will express congratulations on behalf of President Ma Ying-jeou to Guatemala president-elect Otto Perez Molina and re-elected Nicaragua president, Daniel Ortega.
