Taiwan sends capital to aid region's fishing

Friday, March 21, 2014

Taiwan disbursed a third payment of $500,000, part of a $2.5-million program for the development of the fishing industry in countries of Central America.

The Taiwanese ambassador in El Salvador, Andrea Lee, has already signed the paperwork to release the funds to the organization of the fishing and aquaculture sector of Central America.

Taiwan brings financing to the regional project of support to fishing and fish farming policies since 2013, subsidies that are used to improve the economic prospects of artisanal fishers, but also large companies, propping up management and technical assistance.
