Tax hike to affect Honduran construction sector

The Honduran construction industry is among the sectors concerned over a recent increase on sales tax.

The government approved the initiative last month, and will increase sales tax from 12 to 15 percent, including cement manufactured by Colombia's Argos.

The increase is set to come into effect this week, and also applies to basic products such as flour, beans, rice, cane sugar and pastries, among others.
