Taxis under threat of extinction in Costa Rica

The government of Costa Rica has to figure out how provide personal transportation in a way that can be efficient at a reasonable cost.

But it is difficult to understand how the taxi service, as it is right now, can survive. The problem is not the professionalism of the drivers but they can only provide service to people with a smartphone, which not all passengers have.

Meanwhile, Uber and other services have provided a temporary solution, but can traditional trellis survive.
