Telefonica faces make or break in Mexican market

AT&T's aggressive push into Mexico means crunch time is looming for Telefónica.

The Spanish telecoms group has invested about $13.5 billion in Latin America’s second biggest market over the past dozen years and saw revenues rise 9.5 per cent in the third quarter. But it has not decided what to do in the teeth of intensifying competition from a new rival that is fast gaining on it.
