The Panama Canal faces competition

The Panama Canal is on the crest of a wave of good results as the expansion version is about to be inaugurated.

But Jorge Luis Quintana, administrator of the Canal, says there is competition on the horizon. The Suez Canal is offering 30 percent discounts to ships on the way back from Asia to the East Coast of the United States.
