Three countries in region lead sales to Europe

Costa Rica, Honduras and Guatemala are Central America's leaders in exports to the European Union through the association agreement between both regions, said regional trade expert José Carlos García.

He added that it is still too early to make a proper evaluation, as the agreement has been in force for one year.

However, there are some sectors that are already showing good performance, such as El Salvador's sugar exports, while Costa Rica accounts for 50 percent of the region's trade to Europe.
