Tigo and Claro share spoils of spectrum auction in El Salvador

El Salvador telecommunications watchdog Siget has awarded a total of 90 MHz of spectrum in the 1700MHz/2100MHz (AWS) bands to Tigo (Millicom) and Claro (America Movil), the only two participants in the auction.

Twelve 10 MHz blocks were made available to interested parties but only nine of them were finally awarded, reports Telecompaper.
