Top prize for Popoyán, Guatemala fruit and vegetable exporter to US

Agropecuaria Popoyán, a Guatemalan fruit and vegetable exporter, was awarded the nation’s leading export award after 30 years in the industry.

Francisco Viteri, the general manager, highlighted the contribution of the company’s 12 suppliers. Popoyán sends 15 containers a week to the United States and Central America.

The company is building 20 greenhouses for hydroponics. They are being built by an Israeli company using Dutch technology.
