Tourism alleviates poverty in Central America

Tourism is contributing to alleviate poverty in Central America, said Anasha Campbell, head od the Central American Tourism Integration Secretariat, Sitca.
The tourism sector's benefits reach key areas of the region's countries such as education, security and health, Campbell added.
The sector also accounts for about 6 percent of the region's gross domestic product.
