Tourism arrivals in Costa Rica surge by 7.8 percent in the first quarter

The number of tourists arriving in Costa Rica rose by 7.8 percent in the first quarter compared with the same period of last year.
The figures were welcomed by Costa Rican authorities who regarded them as a clear indication of the sector’s recovery.
Costa Rica beat the average 5 percent world growth in tourism during this year’s first quarter, according to the World Tourism Authority.
