El Salvador welcomed 2.5 million foreign tourists last year, a 17 percent increase on 2017, while tourism earnings rose by 16 percent to $1.47 billion.
"We've consolidated El Salvador as a destination, and the statistics show that we're heading in the right direction, said José Napoleón Duarte, the Tourism minister.
