Tourist spending in Honduras grows 15 percent

Tourists visiting Honduras over the last three years have spent more than $2.6 billion, according to Nelly Jerez, director of the country's tourism authority.
The figure is almost 15 percent higher compared with the 2006-2009 period, which saw tourists spend $1.36 billion.
This year, tourists have spent $686 million, boosting the government's goal of reaching $700 million by the end of the year.
