Trade within Central America boosts Costa Rican exports to $13.6 billion in 2010

Costa Rica managed to export products worth $13.6 billion, $192 million more than the initial target forecast for 2010, according to the Costa Rican Investment & Development Board.

The figures represent an increase of 7.5 percent compared with 2009. Foreign Trade Minister Anabel Gonzalez said that 2010 was characterized by a slow recovery of international economy, but was able to achieve an increase of 16 percent in exports bound for the rest of Central America.
