Trade within region grew by 13.4 percent last year

Trade within the countries of Central America reached $5.9 billion last year, a 13.4 percent increase.

Even so, the amount fell short of the $6.46 billion recorded in 2008.

Over the last five years, trade within Central America has grown by 49.7 percent.
