Trump hails accord 'to solve Nafta errors'

Monday, October 1, 2018

Following a last-minute trade accord to bind the United States, Mexico and Canada, Donald Trump tweeted that the three countries have made major improvements to what was once Nafta.

The new elements in the treaty include measures against corruption, labor, energy and the environment.

The energy chapter was redrawn at the request of the future Mexican administration. It explicitly stated the Mexican state's property rights on hydrocarbons.
